Only Witness: Chapter 1

It was a cold and dark wintery night when Charek and Katarzyna were stranded on the side of the road not far from home.


"I can't believe it Charek, this stupid car, I HATE IT," says Katarzyna. "I'm sorry babydoll, The gas gauge is untrue, says Charek. "Well at least the dinner and movie were good, now how do we fix our problem we have, huh?" says Katarzyna. "Let's walk home, we aren't far, i'll even give u my coat. I Can always come back tomorrow to get our car," says Charek. "Well fine let's go than," says Katarzyna.


The couple step out of the car and into the blistering cold. The wind slices them to the bone with slivers of coldness. They walk down the darkened road only but a mile or so from home. "Are you cold Babydoll, would you like my coat?" says Charek. "I'm fine ok, my body is so numb the cold doesn't bother me anymore," says Katarzyna. Charek cuddles close to his girlfriend to make sure that she is as warm as can be. She cuddles back with a kiss to his lips. "There's a short-cut to our home, let's go down the alley, it goes nearly past our house," says Charek. "Uhhhh I dunno Babyboy, it's dark and i'm afraid, there could be monsters," says Katarzyna with laughter. "Come on let's go," says Charek.
The lovers walk towards the alleyway that is filled only with darkness and the noise of pounding. "What is that Charek, what's that pounding noise?" says Katarzyna. "I don't know, just be quiet and walk with me," says Charek.

"WHO'S OUT THERE?!?!?!?!" says a man's voice. Not known to the lovers but the pounding were actually burglers tryin to break open a safe that they have stolen. "Come out now, show yourselves" says another man. A gun is fired into the air. "I'm scared, baby, they are gonna kill us," whispers Katarzyna. "Shhhhhhh Babydoll, I'll take care of it," whispers Charek. "Sorry gentalmen, our car broke down and we were tryin to wlak home and this is a short-cut," says Charek. The men come closer to the couple. "Well Sorry but you Guys aint leavin here ya hear, at least not alive," says one man.
