Mangrove swamp areas were once a common sight along south Florida coastlines. Nowadays, the beast of development has nearly eliminated this lively ecosystem. Pennekamp is one of two parks that protects mangrove ecosystems, and this photo is from one of the nooks at Pennekamp. This particular ecosystem is filled with many creatures, aquatic and avian, not to mention a bounty of photographic splendor. I'm glad I'm close enough to this vivid ecosystem to capture it in pictures before that's all that will remain of the mangrove swamps.
