This is a poem displaying a parallel between two wars and the treatment of American heroes |
Vietnam – Desert Storm Dreadful for the man who dwells on horrid pasts and living hells All around the greenery horrors mixed with scenery The mind is told to stop the flow suppressed anger tends to grow Until the days of torture pass send us home alone; in mass For Desert Storm yellow waves for Nam we hail the unmarked graves While for our freedom each man died back home only family cried If yellow waves till our troops come back then for Vietnam we should wave black Desolate anguish inside still burns as thousands of soldiers recap their returns We ignore Vietnam: Desert Storm steps in Storm reigns heroes – Vietnam morbid sin The Desert Storm heroes tune is sweet add vietnam’s best – make the list complete They fought with valor in untold woes Vietnam baby-killers, the story goes Many lives were lost from misplaced trust in a child that explodes as a patriotic must A buddy dies, he’s a useful tool for the Vietcong to create an American fool When Americans turn him to identify the explosion wounds some; many die. Desert Storm is blessed by the Red, White and blue but Vietnam’s vets are Americans too. So if you wave Yellow for the troops concern wave black for Nam’s that didn’t return |
