This is the story of two estranged lovers who finally get together |
IBTIHAL Ibtihal! Ibtihal! the harsh winter winds echoed his cries They hushed his sobs in their quiet vortex His longing was painful, like the unattended wounds of a captured soldier. He looked behind and saw her in the buds of Spring “My Love”, she said “Let’s dance while the birds do sing” Through countless steps of togetherness; they challenged the passage of Time. Every Autumn leaf that fell to the ground Brought to his ears, Ibtihal’s approaching sound His arms embraced her delicate frame; the garden of Eden was put to shame. “Go bring my love, my Ibtihal to me Or else I’ll have no reason to be Time laughs at every lonely breath I take; Oh Ibtihal, come soon or else I’ll ne’er awake”. In her home so far away Ibtihal stoked the winter fires that brought the blush to her pretty face, She sang her love for her dear Joshua “Free from the shackles, I shall soon be fee and love you my Joshua till eternity”. “Like the great Oaks that kiss the blue skies My soul shall merge with yours forever No more shall we endure their wrath; no longer will be apart, for Life will treat us better. The seasons passed and Time did bring two troubled souls under its gentle wings The Sun did shine in the land of the free; as the grieved lovers met under the statue of Liberty. They hugged and kissed from dusk to dawn for Joshua and Ibtihal a new day was born. The above is a poem pertaining to the contest based on IBTIHAL a girl who fall in love with JOSHUA and are separated. Their true love defeats all and they finally meet to live their lives free from the shackles of society. Canta Dadlaney Bombay - India. |
