A self-realization poem, I'm a beginner, so bare with me. |
I know a girl I know a girl whose present lackadaisical position was once overflowing with animation Her eyes that now glow with tears formerly glistened with anticipation Wishing, waiting, wishing, waiting, waiting, waiting … I know a girl who danced on the heavens and sang to the winds She whispered delirium in melodious mantras and shrieked that the Lord saved her sins Still wishing, still waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting… I know a girl whose devil-may-care existence washed along the abandoned highway She languidly jumps from reality to daydreams; only herself she betrays Just waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting… I know a girl whose fervor radiated the warmth of passion and the madness of obsession Her elation exuded the yellows and reds of western sunsets that she could never question Waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting… I know a girl whose torrent affair with the demons of delight abruptly left her forsaken She twiddles her thumbs and grins to one side perplexed by how it began Waiting, waiting, waiting… I know a girl who once led a fanatical mutiny against the evils of dependency She dynamically converted a stubborn woman and still preserved her decency Waiting, waiting… I know a girl who was drunk off Mother Nature’s ability to reach inside her senses Now, naked and numb, she cries to make every effort to experience the wetness Waiting… I know a girl who conjured up light in cheerless eyes, and smiled in shadows of anguish Now her melancholy flows through her veins and her conversation seems tasteless waiting I know a girl who wanted so much but created ineffective schemes Now she waits for her guardian angel to make truth of her dreams I know a girl… |
