Split Apart

My split apart found.
Wonder what we were?
A star, part of a
Far off sky that
Navigated for angels?

A moonbeam ridden by creatures
Unknown.
Filling their nights with
Laughter and light?

The wind,
Strong yet whispering in the ears of what?
We know not
But bringing health, air and life
Wherever we rustled?

The dew drop on a leaf
Squeezed from the atmosphere by some
Magic – one cohesive drop of
Life’s essence could have been
us.

The seed carried in the belly of a bird,
Released as waste over fertile lands.
We could have been
Fresh green grass
On a prarie.

Yet

All those we might have been or
Might be again
Pale beside what we have become.
My beloved Split apart,
Again
We are one.
