Deadly Sin

It shouldn't have happened. It wasn't supposed to happen. Sure, there had been flirting. But it had been innocent flirtations.

Had been.

She had always just brushed him off. Not only did she work with him, but she was older than him. A younger man had been flirting with her.

It made her feel younger and more alive. Her mood had changed. Her attire changed. And her husband had loved it. Used it to his advantage.

Yes, she was a married woman flirting with a much younger man.

But that was all it had been.

Eventually, the sexual tension crackling in the air finally took over. She just couldn't say no anymore. The kiss was hot and sexually charged. He was just as shocked as she was, when they had pulled away. In fact, he had walked away first. They hadn't seen nor talked to each other since “the incident”.

And then he showed up when she was home alone.

'What are you doing here?' She asked, a confused look on her face.

'We need to talk.'

Not a lot of talking was done. There was more sex than anything.

And now she had paid the price. Her husband had found out.

There wasn't a word to describe how angry he was.

He looked down at his stained hands. They had both paid the ultimate price for their adultery.

He ran the water and looked into the mirror. Dark circles looked like they were painted on underneath his eyes. His age was more apparent. He didn't want to kill her...or him for that matter. It had all just...happened.

Now he was a murderer.

Shaking himself out of his reverie, he started to wash his hands and watched as the water was tinted pink.

Lust.

It really is a deadly sin.
