With watchful eyes

The small and the proud
The silent and the vengeful
Tears and smiles surround us
And they're all we see
Sometimes -
Nothing is lost
No name forgotten
Too hard for us to understand
Too much for us to comprehend
Silence and confusion
Loud noises and clarity
A proud heart stands tall
For all the world to see
A humble heart sits quietly
Waiting for eternal life
Both are fools in their own right
A selfless act of love denied
The one who offered
Seeks nothing but God
A true hero in this world
