After my heart attack I feel so thankful to have reached my 38th wedding anniversary.
I promised to love you in sickness and in health,
We certainly didn't marry for each other's wealth
We started with a few old pence, not a great fortune,
I just didn't care, I was dancing on the moon.

Through the ups and downs of our evolving married life
I've never regretted saying yes to being your wife,
Often we've reached heights like a helium filled balloon,
In each other's arms we've been dancing on the moon.

The smile in your eyes does not dim as we get older
I feel content as I rest my head upon your shoulder,
It amazes me that with each other we remain in tune,
You still take me where I am dancing on the moon.

Thirty eight years of marriage and of loving only you
I've felt so lucky when you've shown you love me too,
If our love lasts a lifetime it will be over all too soon,
I'd like an eternity with you, dancing on the moon.
