A poem of love and death
She dances in mid winters snow,
Leaving tiny footprints like a prancing doe.
A rush of wind lets her know he's near,
He comes to life as she sheds but a single tear.
It slides down her face to hit the frozen ground,
Shadows descend with a silent shattering sound.
He stands silently before her now,
Giving her a low graceful bow.
His hair is dark as night,
Skin of winters purest white.
The smell of frost upon his breath,
An icy chill with each winds caress.
He pulls her gently to his chest,
To begin the dance of life and death.
As shadows fall across his face,
She is forever lost in winter's dark embrace.
She slumbers peacefully in his arms,
Knowing he will protect her from any harm.
Night descends and shadows fall,
Bringing to an end Mid Winters Festive Ball
The winter winds whisper soft and low,
All that's left are her tiny footprints in the snow.
