Regenerating your Romance Story

Each romance stories have their own uniqueness, mostly they were created with the effect of time, the trends and the generation aura.
Though romance stories have the same basic theme, of course, it's always be about love and romance, but they may differ when they blend some different genres like comedy, horror, action and so on.

Although, Plots can be anywhere and we may find inspiration everywhere but to get more of its uniqueness and effectiveness one should consider adding some tools and blending too, some techniques.

But did you know that a Romance story can be old but new, or can be new but old?

There is this called Regeneration. It's a technique in writing a Romance Story that has the possibility to re-birth or re-create on old story to another version, or into another view through using the trendies, especially when considering the time era.

I think you already know this, and somehow practicing this too, especially when you are being inspired and strikes by your creative wit.

This is most common also to movies when an old movie was being created to its new version or called it a remake.
When I compare it to the old version I found that the new version is already more in conformed to the demand trends of the latest generation.

Here are some tips for us to consider in regenerating Romance Stories.

*BulletP* Time shift to latest era- We may like to change the time era, if the original romance story has been set its time to old times where tech is still not the in, then we may want to regenerate it to a techno version, vice versa a contemporary romance story can shift to vintage too. *Smile*

*BulletP* Shifting Character Style - Yes, the trendy of today is not the same as the trendies yesterday.
Real flowers and balloons that may be given during those old times can be virtually given now with cute wordings. *Smirk*It can still melt the heart.

*BulletP* Plot Shifting - Yes, we can still adopt the original plot but you may like to emphasize some more detailed things that have not been so showy in the original version.

*BulletP* Dialogue Shifting -And how about this one, we may want to modernize the language or dialogue that were being used. Some of today words are a combination of two languages, like for example we have here in the Philippines the Tanglish, Tagalog, and English, I don't know if there is Spanlish out-there a combination of Spanish and English or so on. *Smile*

So to stories in romance, it can have the possibility too to regenerate, even how vintage the stories is it, there's a possibility to create an innovative that sometimes may conform to the trends of today.

Have you consider trying this technique, if not yet, try it now, remake or regenerate your old love story. *Heart*

Samberine Sig.

Comments from our readers. "Spiritual Newsletter (August 14, 2019)Open in new Window.

Your article is true and good! For Christians, we must have faith for we cannot please God without it. Faith, in my opinion, is like a muscle. The more we use it and trust in God, the stronger and more refined it will become. ~ shepherd46

This is a good NL. I'd like to add that in writing, you characters need to have a spiritual background. Don't ignore this. Their faith and choices are based on how they believe and were raised. How did they feel about taking items from the workplace? Maybe they think the Boss owes them a pad of paper or pens for the good work they do and don't see it as stealing. What about lying or cheating? Cutting in line or manipulating others? All these things are filtered through their relationship with God. Are they a believer or never heard of him except in swear words? Your characters are a reflection of YOU the author. Your faith shows through in your strong main characters. Your villains will reflect the opposite of what you believe is good and right. This NL is an excellent reminder of what's important when creating stories/characters that may not have anything to do with religion. BUT they all do! ~Quick-Quill
