Email
I don't know about you, but I lose track of my email. It soon gets out of hand and I have hundreds of emails to read! When I'm hosting a contest, there's even more!
It can be hard to stay on top of things and not let them get out of hand, but it's a good idea to at least try. Set aside time each morning or every other morning, even once per week or month. Whatever time period that works for you, it's a good idea to take care of your email when you can.
Prioritize your email. If you have a direct email with "help" in the subject line, that might be a good one to start with! It's an important consideration when you're thinking about hosting a contest or activity. Sometimes you can just set up your start date, and then there's not much to be done until it's time to judge. It's a good idea, though, to keep an eye on your email for questions. Sometimes people will send a review of the contest with a question, so try to read and respond to your reviews quickly!
Respond to reviews. If I'm honest, I'm not the best when it comes to this. It's a really good idea to at least send a thank you and/or some gift points for a review of your work! Even if it's months late. Most members will understand that email gets overwhelming and sometimes we miss responding in a timely manner. All it takes is a, "Sorry I took so long to respond!" comment and a thank you.
Mind your limits. There are limits on how many emails you can save, so keep that in mind, too! When you click on "Email," if you look to the right top of your inbox, you'll see how much space you have available. Filling up your inbox with saved emails may prevent you from receiving new email! As a helpful reminder, you will receive an email when you reach 90% or more of your email available space. To increase your email quota, consider upgrading your account. To compare benefits of each membership level, see "Membership Benefits Comparison
So what do you do if you're already overwhelmed with email? My advice would be to take it slowly. Don't expect to go through hundreds of emails all at once! Take ten if you have time for them. Go through them in increments that are doable and eventually you'll get through them all!
As always, keep on writing!
