Funny Family Secrets

When the family meets again for the holidays, the fun can get started.

Which funny family events do you tell each holiday at the table?

During the holidays, many families host large gatherings with as many family members as possible. This is usually a time when old jokes get warmed up and old accidents that are now funny get retold.

As a writer, sit still and listen. Take notes in your mind for comedy that you can incorporate into your own writing. There might be the cousin who has a knack for falling into lakes, rivers, or other watery places each spring break. There might be the aunt who has constant run-ins with wildlife in her backyard.

If you're not going to a family reunion for the holidays, you can still use that situational comedy that is bound to ensue when people who've known each other their whole lives get together. Remember your childhood and the shenanigans you got yourself into. If you weren't a naughty child (of course you weren't), then think of the stuff your brother, sister, cousin, or neighbor got into.
