Thanksgiving

Here in the US, we'll be celebrating Thanksgiving very soon, and it got me to thinking about giving thanks.

Giving thanks is nearly always a great idea, whether it's thanks for help or a kindness or even a criticism. And there are many, many things to be thankful for on Writing.Com.

*Leaf2br* Thank someone for sending a review. The least you can do is send an email reply with a simple, "Thanks!" It recognizes the review and sends a thankful comment. If you want to go even further, send some gps, award them by crediting the reviewer through the Public Review Page  Open in new Window.. And the best thanks would probably be to review the person who send you their review!

*Leaf2g* Thank contest/activity participants! Your contests and activities wouldn't get far without participants. Be sure to thank them in a message post or email. A review is also a great way to say thanks!

*Leaf2o* Thank the host of a contest/activity! Send a review of the contest itself or send a donation to their prize pool! It's always a good idea to thank the host of a contest when you're one of its winners!

*Leaf2r* Thank visitors to your port and those who leave comments on blogs and journals. Another way to send thanks is with c-Notes, and I'll link a few of those in my Editors Picks.

In general, giving thanks is a great way to participate in a community. It shows recognition and appreciation. I think everyone appreciates a "Thank You" from time to time!

Thanks, kind readers, for reading this week's Contests & Activities Newsletter! *Bigsmile*

Ask & Answer

My last newsletter, ("Contests & Activities Newsletter (October 26, 2016)Open in new Window.), discussed Stress-Relief.

Good Newsletter! I'm sat here writing this comment having just completed an essay for University right before the deadline, and I have several deadlines looming here on Writing.Com for contests and challenges I entered. *Laugh*

I completely agree with you about writing for fun. And about going for a walk. Nature can feel almost magical in the way it can destress me. Plus yes, friends. I am lucky to have found some really good friends here on W.Com, and their support and the fun I have with them are very valuable.

Thanks for the reminder. *Smile*
