They're Here! They're Here!

What's here? Trinkets! They're in the beta stage of site testing and The StoryMaster Author Icon is working out a few bugs but the craze has begun! What are trinkets? Well...they're little images you can share and trade with friends. A sort of WDC baseball card type of fun. Some of the trinkets are RARE, the creators limit them to only disperse a few, some can only be collected if you're in a special group.

Even better, the trinkets can be passkeyed or hidden, and only located by visiting where they are linked or given the passkey by the creator. This creates so many fun possibilities for contests and activities, doesn't it? Creating one for your contest or activity is pretty simple. Just find a cool image and go to your community page and click Trinkets Collected or Trinkets created. There's a button in the upper right that allows you to start the creation process. The instructions are pretty intuitive and there's arrow tools to help you center or size your image to get it to fit nicely on the trinket. There are lots of frames to put around the border of your image once you've added all your text in the text fields, click the button to PREVIEW your trinket. Check it carefully...including spelling! Once you're positive the trinket is just how you'd like it, create the trinket.

The trinket creation will give you an ID code which you will use in a {trinket:########} link to show your trinket in other items or places like your Notebook, Blog or special item you created the trinket to use. In the last few days, I've thought of lots of possible places trinkets could be used. I'm sure we'll see a flurry of them to start as everyone experiments with creating them, but in time I can imagine these will be fun things to create for contests, rewards, activities and group fun. I'm sure members are finding pages they haven't visited before just by looking for trinkets!

I invite you to respond to the question below with your ideas for trinkets and how to use them for lots of site fun!

This month's question: What are your ideas for trinket uses? Send in your answer below! *Down* Editors love feedback!

Story contest for the darker souls ~ CLOSED
#1935914 by Creeper Of The Realm Author IconMail Icon

Excerpt: This is a short story contest for writers who enjoy diving into the dark depths of their character's souls. We all have our deepest and darkest, those skeletons in the closet, which are locked away, hidden from prying eyes. It's what makes our connection to our characters and their most brutal and horrifying secrets come to life. As writers, we depend on more than our imagination. Do you dare to share? How dark can someone's life really be?
