Deadlines!

In life, we come across many deadlines. We have due dates and deadlines when it comes to school, family and more, and we have many ways to help us meet those deadlines.

*Smartphone* Alarms & Alerts. Just like an alarm clock to wake up, you can set alarms to remind you of tasks and deadlines. Most of us have smartphones at this point, and most of them have handy alarms. You can use those alarms for many things, including reminders!

*Document* Calendars. Like alarms, calendars can also serve as reminders. Whether it's a digital calendar or a paper one, calendars can be a great way to keep track of deadlines for contests & activities. (One thing I like to do is to write in when I have one week left until my deadline. That way it doesn't sneak up on me!)

*Person* Friends. Ask a friend to remind you! Or join a group that may help with reminders. As a contest/activity host, feel free to post a reminder message post in a forum, in your Bio Block or on your Newsfeed!

*Checkp* Make it a Habit. A great way to remember something is to make a habit out of it. It can take days, weeks or more to create a new habit, so work to remind yourself until it becomes habit.

When it comes to deadlines for contests & activities, be sure to obey rules set forth by the hosts (or suffer the consequences).

But what happens when your tricks haven't worked and you're down to the wire. You have a writing assignment due or the deadline to a contest you wanted to enter is looming and your entry isn't quite ready? Do you submit an unpolished entry? Spend all your available time re-reading and editing up until the last minute? Submit it late?

What would you do? *Wink*

As always, keep on writing! *Smile*

Ask & Answer

My last newsletter, ("Contests & Activities Newsletter (September 2, 2015)Open in new Window.), discussed having a back-up plan.

Thank you so much for including my Raffle!

No problem! *Bigsmile*

Having a back-up plan is always good. The only back-up plans I have is to get busy with fall chores, read or write letters by hand to several close friends.
