Entering Contests in the Horror Genre

         One of the best ways to get into writing horror and/or scary stories is to enter a contest. It's fun to stretch yourself by trying new things with your writing, and if you've been thinking about writing a horror story, why not jump right in and enter your newly written story in a contest?

         Current contest can be found under "item jumps," and then under "contests." Find any that state they are in the horror/scary genre and you're in business.

         Check out the horror/scary newsletter archives, and the contest newsletter archives also; they can be found under the "members tools" in the upper left of your computer screen, then under "newsletter archives." The writing.com newsletters are full of how-tos, inspiration, and good reading.
