Every week from 1966 to 1969, I stopped whatever I was doing to turn on the television and watch 50 minutes of excitement and interstellar adventure. I did not plan anything for the night Star Trek came on television. When Star Trek was on, I left the living room only during the commercial breaks. I was 19 years old at the time and I could not get enough of Star Trek.
I watched every episode during the regular season and then I watch the reruns. All right, that might seem a bit obsessive, but the character and the special effects enchanted me. In many ways, the original Star Trek affected the way I thought about the universe and the future.
The original Star Trek generated several movies and spinoffs. The Star Trek phenomenon has become a pop-culture icon and an inspiration to many writers and poets. In celebration of the 46th anniversary of Star Trek let me see some of your Fanfiction containing the characters in this series. Submit them by Wednesday, October 3 for my next edition on October 10.

Excerpt: This is mainly a fantasy, but this is as much your story as it is mine so have fun, I would only ask that you respect the 13+ rating so the majority can enjoy it..that said, I would prefer options to be direction, or an action that can lead to a directions (for example I use the picking up of equipment as a choice coupled with going back.) the idea is after all to escape the dungeon...

Excerpt: A loud crash echoed through the still of the night and Rex awoke with a start. He didn't dare move a muscle; and yet if he stayed in bed, whoever was in the house would surely find him. He held his breath so that it wouldn't interfere with his ability to make out what had caused the noise.
Excerpt: The encroaching, suffocating darkness covered the room. The blackness was complete; there was no light within the space at all, so it was immediately obvious when the vampire opened its eyes, the dark orbs still standing out in contrast to the overwhelming gloom. He stepped forwards and motioned to a set of candles on the low table to his right. Flames sprang into existence, casting a dim, flickering glow around the room. There came a heavy clanking at the door, and it swung slowly open.
Excerpt: I was running hard, my feet pounding the ground rhythmically. I was trying to shut out my nightmare of running through this forest...

pinkbarbie writes: Hi this newsletter is very helpful to me since I realised that I normally use metaphors and dramatic expressions so well known that they are viewed as clichés. Now I know what to do. Thank you so much.
