WDC Newsletters

Many of us were taught to add two spaces after a period before proceeding to the next sentence. That rule was made back before computers took the place of typewriters. Each character on a typewriter took up the same amount of space. These monospaced letters, unlike most fonts we use today, were harder on the eyes, thus-- two spaces after a period gave the eyes a break.

A simple tip, but to many, a question answered. And by reading this newsletter and others, you will be sure to pick up many more writing tips, advice, and instruction on how to navigate around the site. Be sure to send us feedback, too, which you will find at the bottom of every newsletter. *Smile*

In the Poetry Newsletter, perhaps you'll learn a new form of poetry or discover a poet you never heard of. In the Contest & Activity Newsletter, maybe you will challenge yourself to win a ribbon or gift points. The For Authors Newsletter will offer lots writing advice for those of you who are considering publication or want to improve writing skills. The information and inspiration in all our newsletters are available and free.

Cubby,
Liked the article. I have found many ideas just by reading trhe Bible. I know there are hundreds of stories in the Bible people could write about, and they will read the best book in the world.

I love stepping outside my writer's comfort zone -- and I didn't do so before joining WDC. Like you, I recommend "stepping out" to all writers. Experimenting with new genres is one way for us to grow in our crafts.
