Letter from the editor

Contests are abundant on Wdc. With everything from poetry, to flash fiction, to short stories, novels, lyrics, dialog, and many more, with c notes, auctions, raffles, and other creative community things members do here. *Smile* I host my own contest, that I have lent to my sister darkskye Author Icon for her own twist in it, and love entering those that waken my muse. But sometimes a contest or activity that comes here truly is "one of a kind". These are not the norms here. The members who have brainstormed these contests and activities have really showed creativity and in so, gives those of us, new heights to aim for in our ever growing Muse's.

I want to share these Activities and Contests, and C notes, that for me, CandyStaiNeCane Author Icon strike me in some way, and stand out against all others. A contest to me, in not for the prize offered, though I will not lie, it is always a sweet perk. *Wink* To me, when one writes something that they feel is growth in whatever way. A poem or a story that is just above the rising tide of their own muse's waves. I have a few poems, that I credit always to a former Moderator here, Kanaspoet. He encouraged such quality from both his contest, Kanaspoet Poetry Contest , and Splasharama and his and another member's helpful books which still can be found. "Poetry FormsOpen in new Window.

Contests can always be found on the in/outs created by The StoryMaster Author Icon Looky! *Wink* "Writing Contests @ Writing.ComOpen in new Window.. Always too by searching "contest". Or as I do, the genre you wish to see in a contest, and under forums, or groups. Activities are posted here "Activities @ Writing.ComOpen in new Window. I will also be highlighting some recently created activities and such, that always would be delighted to see everyone's involvement. Contests should be fun, yet challenging. Always remember.
