Letter from the editor

Have you ever taken a long, hard look at the things you possess? If you have, I'm sure that you've said to yourself on many occasions, "Why do I still have this? I haven't used this in years!" Or sometimes, you might say, "Why did I even buy this in the first place?"

I did that over this last weekend as I sorted through and purged my craft and scrapbooking supplies. At one point, I decided that I have a serious shopping problem. I mean, how many eyelets does a scrapbooker need? (If you're not a scrapbooker, please don't answer that. *Wink*) At one point in time I became so overwhelmed by all of the things I've amassed, I just decided I should keep it all so I wouldn't have to go through it. I've since rethought that decision and have started the process of taking it one-thing-at-a-time.

I posted the items I've already purged onto the local Free-cycle group, and received almost 80 responses for a vague description: "30-gallon Rubbermaid container full of scrapbooking supplies, organizational storage containers, and other crafting supplies." How does you pick just one person out of 80 to receive the junk that you still want, but don't have room to keep, anymore? I chose to use a random dice generator and chose #26!

Of course, lucky # 26, who would have hit the jackpot lottery, doesn't respond to her emails and IMs within the specified time frame. The next lucky person is # 72. And #72 doesn't respond, either. Well, why the heck would you respond to a post if you expect me to wait for you to respond? I want to get rid of this stuff as soon as possible! Gah!

In the meantime, I have a mountain of discarded scrapbooking supplies sitting in a 30-gallon rubbermaid container in the middle of my kitchen. Does anyone have a solution to this conundrum? And, no, I won't ship the supplies to you! *Laugh*

And as for you, why not take this weekend as a chance to clean, organize, and purge items from your portfolio? We all could use a good portfolio cleaning every now and again! *Smile*
