“I find genuine humility and modesty attractive.” – Chris Evans
“My guiding principles in life are to be honest, genuine, thoughtful, and caring.” - Prince William
Romance: an ardent emotional attachment between two people. A love affair.
Valentines Day has come and gone by the time you get this newsletter. There’s a lot of myths that swirl around Valentines Day. I’ve heard he was a priest in Roman times who ministered to those in prison. Charles of Orleans is credited as writing the first Valentines when he was a prisoner in England. Today, it’s a commercialized holiday celebrating “romance” and “love.” But in today’s society, can we look past the commercialization and find the wonderful? What makes falling in love wonderful?
Have fun with this little poll:

What are the qualities that a man looks for in a woman? A woman looks for in a man? Keep these in mind as you write your romance story or even read a romance story.
Authenticity
Being authentic to yourself is a big characteristic that couples look for in each other. Are you honest to yourself? You don’t fake it to make it, do you? Are you trustworthy? You don’t have burner phones hanging in your back pocket? Being genuine and true to you is one of the most attractive qualities you can have.
Supportive
Are you supportive? Are you there through the ups and downs? Sometimes life doesn’t always go our way, and we need a person to say, “I’m here for you.”
Crisis
Can you handle the tough times? Men tend to appreciate a woman who can handle a problem without having to turn to them all the time to solve it.
Emotional Connection
We all need to feel understood and appreciated. That helps to deepen our emotions. When that’s present, we can connect emotionally. What helps is spending that quality time together to nurture that emotional connection.
Communication
Being open about your feelings, thoughts and concerns, while never easy, will keep the lines of communication open and when they’re open, it demonstrates a level of empathy, care, and respect toward your partner.
Physical Attraction
This is the hook. Do you have the look that will turn your partner on? I hate to say good hygiene will go a long way, but it will. A warm heartened smile goes a long way.
Core Values
I think this one is probably the most overlooked. A couple should share core values, or the romance will go south fast. Some core values are intelligence, sense of humor, compassion, and kindness.
Falling in love can happen at first sight (intense chemistry) or it can take years to realize what you’ve got (shared experiences). Your personality and emotional readiness is usually a hint to you.
Love is unique to everyone. How you fall in love maybe different from how your bestie falls in love, but one thing is for certain, the above mentioned qualities are most likely involved.

Feedback from my last Romance/Love Newsletter dated: 22 JAN 2025:
Princess Megan Rose
Worldly. Well known. A good newsletter. I like writing Jane Austen type Regency Romance. They had to sneak kisses and no sex. They really got to know each other and the excitement and anticipation of love and waiting was hard. At the balls, they danced and touched hands. Teasers. I wish I lived in Jane's time and could have been in England. Did you keep up? Thanks for sharing my Romance Letter in this issue.
What quality do you look for in a significant other? Feedback from my Newsfeed dated: 13 February 2025:
Kåre เลียม Enga
I think everything you mention is a positive; but, to maintain a relationship communication, values and support are key... imho. I could marry a poor man with values (and a smile) but not a rich man who doesn't value me.
Allan Charles 🐾
I’d just like to find someone who is genuine (and monogamous), and also someone who doesn’t want to get married on the second date. A relationship is a lot of work with the wrong person. Something organic and natural is really the most important thing to me; nothing forced.
THANKFUL SONALI Love my family
Sense of humour!! And - fine tuned - a sense of humour that matches mine - I mean, we should be able to laugh at the same things.
ShiShad
Someone who is understanding and compassionate in the areas of needed support. Someone who communicates in a close relationship with me.
StephBee is a 911 dispatcher for LAPD. Her story, “A Polish Heart,” takes place in Warsaw, Poland during the spring. Darrin falls for his attractive interpreter, but will an ocean keep them apart?
