Sweet Revenge ![]() Affairs can hurt in different ways. ![]() |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Sweet revenge indeed! Her boss would have been better off waiting a couple of days before he so unceremoniously dumped her. Or perhaps it would have been advisable not to have an affair in the first place. Well, I suppose he learned that lesson. It’s not like she was entirely innocent in the whole thing; after all, she chose to have the affair, but his behaviour and the way he spoke to her on that last day was atrocious. Fortunately, she didn’t need this job anymore so she could get her revenge. I imagine missing the deadline put a serious dent in his career path. I don’t suppose the couple lived happily ever after. Even though she promised herself she would never breathe a word of the whole thing to her husband, something must have changed between them. It was the husband I felt sorry for because he loved her and he had no idea. It seemed that she loved him too, but not enough to remain faithful. I felt I got to know the characters quite well in this story. ![]() I wasn’t sure why you capitalised the word Complaint throughout this story. Because you did it every time, I assume it was deliberate. I didn’t know what a complaint was in legal terms so I looked it up, but I didn’t see it capitalised in the articles that I came across in my quick search. And just a small typo in this sentence: when she first starting working for him - ‘starting’ should be ‘started’. ![]() I assume the photo you used as the thumbnail was the picture prompt for the contest, and you used it very well. It was easy to imagine her sitting at her desk trying not to cry. It was quite noticeable though that she was more upset about him dumping her than about her cheating on her husband, which is where the whole revenge thing came into it - once her husband got a good job and could provide for her. I can’t say that I liked her all that much, but I guess she wasn’t supposed to be likeable. Her revenge was still nicely done, and although it was clear from the beginning what she was going to do, it was still an interesting and well written story. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This review is affiliated with The B.E.A.R.
