*CakeB* HAPPY WDC ACCOUNT ANNIVERSARY FROM "Anniversary ReviewsOpen in new Window.*CakeP*

Hello, Santeven Quokklaus, aka stevengepp!

INITIAL IMPRESSION / OVERVIEW:

*Bulletg* I enjoyed reading your "Using Rare Words" blog post every time I read it, including today.

*Bulletg* Your writing kept me riveted and I read straight through to the end.

MORE DETAILED FEEDBACK:

*Bulleto* Happy Writing.Com Anniversary month! I read this "Using Rare Words" blog post of yours sometime in the past and enjoyed it, but didn't have time to review it right then, so I flagged it for an anniversary review (meaning I saved the link to it in a special "December" file. *Smile* ). I hope you enjoy this review as a celebration of your time here and find the review uplifting and encouraging.

*Bulleto* I could totally relate to this post. Even though I purposefully try not to use big words for things meant for the general public, sometimes they slip out and people have thought I'm trying to act snooty or whatever. Nope. Just part of my vocabulary. I had a famous writer say in a webinar to never use words that the average person wouldn't recognize. But really, how would I know? It's just a guessing game. Anyway, I wish more people were like you and willing to use more interesting and appropriate words. I greatly appreciated how you took it further and purposefully use unusual words to keep them in circulation. That's awesome. Before reading your blog post, I hadn't thought about it from that perspective. Your teacher's heart shows through and I think it's a wonderful thing.

*Bulleto* I suspect that most word lovers could relate to this blog post.

*Bulleto* My favorite line was: " I have been known to throw a word that really describes what I want but that I am might be the only person since 1856 to have used it in a piece of writing." Even though, from a USA English perspective, there's a grammatical error there (either I am or I might be would be correct, but not both... however I have no idea about Australian grammar so it might not be an error there anyway)... because of the sentiment. I find Victorian words popping into my vocabulary when reading that style of book and then I get some weird looks for sure. It's not even a conscious thing. And the words might not have been used in the book. I guess I just get in that frame of mind. So it's nice to know that I'm not the only one using old (maybe obsolete but still useful, imo) words. *Smile*

*Bulleto* I thought you did a great job with the topic and, until this re-read of your blog post, I'd forgotten about your regular postings of unusual words. Not sure how. I enjoyed them.

*Bulleto* I thought the personal, writing, and educational genres you selected were appropriate for this blog post (and overall blog) of yours.

IDEAS TO MAKE YOUR PIECE STRONGER:
I would love to have something great to share here, but I think it's wonderful as it is. Well done! *Clap*

As with any review, please take what serves you and release or ignore what doesn't.

CONCLUSION:
*Bulletv* I enjoyed reading your blog post, and empathized with your sentiments that you expressed in it.

*Bulletv* Thank you for sharing your time, creativity, heart, opinions, experiences, best practices, and writing with the Writing.Com community!

*Bulletv* Once again, happy anniversary month! I hope the year ahead is filled with blessings and joy for you!

May love, joy and peace be yours in abundance!
PWheeler
