Char [E] A final decision helps a family reconnect. |
HAPPY WDC ACCOUNT ANNIVERSARY FROM "Anniversary Reviews" First Impressions: It took me a minute to figure out who the characters were, but in the end, it didn’t really matter. It was a very human story and the fact that the characters were not added an interesting layer to the tale but I could still relate to them. Ultimately, all families are complicated, and this story showed that in a very emotional way. The narrator’s relationship with both parents is difficult, but you show how the rifts were being mended in a very thoughtful way. It sounds like all of them have made mistakes, but by the end of the tale, they seemed to be on their way to heal. Suggestions: I spotted a few small errors: It was done in the best of intentions “with the best intentions”? 'if we never talk again, life my life will be perfect.' I think the first “life” was a typo and shouldn’t be there. she didn't bother the same either. “bother to do the same”, maybe? More conversations where had “were” the decisions she had done “she had made”, maybe, or “taken”? Final Thoughts: I liked flying as a metaphor for freedom but also to form a bond or a connection. It was a nice image and it helped the family to overcome their difficulties. The last paragraph was quite powerful and a fitting ending to the story. I enjoyed the read! My review has been submitted for consideration in "Good Deeds Get CASH!" .
