Happy Writing.Com Anniversary day and month! I read this blog post of yours sometime in the past and enjoyed it, but didn't have time to review it right then, so I flagged it for an anniversary review (meaning I saved the link to it in a special "September" file. ). I hope you enjoy this review as a celebration of your time here and find the review uplifting.

It breaks my heart when I find out people abandon their pets. So many think their domesticated cats and dogs will be fine in the wild and able to fend for themselves but, sadly, it's my understanding that most don't make it. And even if they bring them to a shelter, I doubt the survival rates are any better, unless it's a no-kill shelter. And even those sometimes ship their surplus to kill shelters, I've read. It's horrible. Not to mention the emotional bond. How incredibly scared and sad and utterly bereft a pet must feel when abandoned!

I have nursed two cats to their dying days. One was blind and deaf and needed medicine for her last year. It was an honor to help her through those times and she still was able to express love and appreciation and purred and slept on a pillow on my lap whenever I sat to read books. I still miss her, even though we have adopted two more rescue cats. Each one has his or her own personality and definitely they are our cats for life and part of the family.

Word-wise, my favorite line was: "I AM YOUR CAT FOR LIFE!" Though, personally, I could have done without the all caps in this poem, it does provide emphasis. I imagine all caps is easier for visually impaired people to see than bold or italics.

I loved the picture of the cat in your thumbnail image and thought it was perfect for this cat for life free verse poem of yours. Is it a Maine coon cat? Looks like one.

I didn't notice any spelling or grammatical mistakes (or mistakes of any kind) in your cat for life free verse poem.
