It was the 50's [E] Alternate Title The Dog Ate It |
HAPPY WDC ACCOUNT ANNIVERSARY FROM "Anniversary Reviews" Greetings, Quick-Quill! I am reviewing this because I am part of the Anniversary Review Team and today is your 17th WdC anniversary. Time flies, doesn't it? First of all, my reviews are intended to be helpful and encouraging, not hurtful in any way. Use what you feel works for you, and leave the rest. The Positives/What I Liked I love reading a well-written children's story with good visuals. You did not disappoint! I've often wondered if one could actually cook an egg on concrete. I loved all the imagery and could clearly visualize the entire story. I could also feel the heat outside along with the coolness in the house, thanks to Ma pinning the curtains shut after allowing the morning's cool air inside. I loved...All three of their heads met over the egg. Ma held her hand out and pressed the children back, “Don’t make any shade for it. We want it to cook.” Not everyone would've thought of that, including myself! I enjoyed the comical ending where Greg doesn't believe they had actually fried an egg on the sidewalk. And Ma says, “I guess you’ll have to take our word for it. We did it and your dog ate it.” Ma's dress swished as she walked back to the house. Nice work! Suggestions/Comments to Consider There are areas you might consider changing. And they are pretty much repeats, so I'll just mention a few of them: her Ma her ma “Thank you Ma’am.” Ben piped up. “Thank you, Ma’am,” Ben piped up. Thanks Ma Thanks, Ma “Did so.” Both Ben and Jemma said at the same time. “Did so,” both Ben and Jemma said at the same time. Final Thoughts I'm so glad to have discovered this for a review! It was a pleasure to read. Again, Happy 17th WdC Anniversary. And may you have many more! A Review from: "Positive Hearts Reviews Group" Have a great day and... K e e p on W r i t i n g ! Cubby ")
