Why is reviewing our own work hard? We are blind to our own faults, as we don't want to hurt ourselves. That is one reason. Another reason might be that we are lost in the fantasy of what we think we wrote that we don't see what we wrote. Likewise, it's hard to review a friend's work, as we don't want to ruin the friendship. The trick is trying to separate our selves from our work, and our selves from our friends.
