How to meet new people. [E] Grandma Lady meets a couple nice fellas. |
HAPPY WDC ACCOUNT ANNIVERSARY FROM "Anniversary Reviews" First Impressions: That is indeed a great way to meet new people! There are a couple of downsides, of course. Not all the young men might be as nice as these two, and sooner or later one of them might take her driving licence away and instead give her a different piece of paper that demands money. But as long as she gets away with just having a nice chat with those concerned young people, it’s all good! I had seen that this story was in the ‘Comedy’ genre, but there was a moment when I was concerned for the narrator’s safety when she described how the two men did a u-turn to follow her. Then they flashed Christmas lights on top of their car and it all became clear, and from then on, it was a very funny story. I loved how she misunderstood their intentions completely (I wasn’t sure if she really did or just pretended to, but it wasn’t important) and kept thinking how helpful they were and coming up with explanations for their actions - like the way they took her licence back to their car to get a better look at it because The sun was shining quite brightly. Suggestions: The story was very polished and I didn’t notice any errors, so I’m going to use this section to point out a line that made me laugh out loud: When I drove off the two young men followed me a ways to make sure nobody rode my bumper That was the final explanation she came up with and I thought it was hilarious. Final Thoughts: The last paragraph was nicely done. She didn’t understand (or pretended not to understand) anything that had happened so she recommended following her example to meet nice young people. At that point, I could imagine her telling this story to all her friends, perhaps with a cup of tea in her hand, and them nodding along and thinking what a good idea it would be to drive like that so they, too, would make new friends. A great story, I enjoyed the read! ** Image ID #2154080 Unavailable ** My review has been submitted for consideration in "Good Deeds Get CASH!" .
