Hi ruwth I'm sending this review in connection with "I Write in 2024" . Positives I like the way that you organized this blog item into different sections of experience, from your initial attempts, to visiting local churches both large and small, to trying a church in another town. You clearly laid out your plan, and the steps you took to try to become more fluent/conversational in Spanish, which was a great way of highlighting your commitment to developing a very hard to learn skill. Languages can be very difficult for some people to learn... myself included! Suggestions This isn't so much a suggestion for the written piece itself as much as a suggestion for how to improve your conversational Spanish as a whole, but I think there are a variety of other options beyond just attending a Spanish-speaking church and hiring a private tutor. There are potentially local classes to take advantage of (lots of developed areas have adult/community education and learning a foreign language is one of the most popular offerings at those continuing education organizations), apps on your phone (Duolingo or Babbel, for example), independent study courses (Rosetta Stone), and a wide variety of other immersion activities. Church is a great one, but I've also heard of people having success with watching television with the Spanish language and/or subtitle option enabled, and placing yourself in other immersive environments such as conversational groups (especially with the prevalence of Spanish, you can often find a small group of both Spanish and English speakers willing to converse on a regular basis to develop the language skills of both). Overall Overall, I thought you did a good job with this item itself. It was well-organized, and detailed enough to give the reader a clear picture of the steps you've taken to try to learn Spanish. While a private tutor is an excellent (albeit expensive) option, I think there are some other opportunities still available to you as well. Whichever one you choose, I wish you the best of luck in learning to speak Spanish! Language skills are definitely some of the most useful skills you can have. I hope you've found this review helpful. If so, please consider paying it forward by reviewing the work of another Writing.com author! Respectfully, Jeff "Rating & Reviewing Philosophy" My review has been submitted for consideration in "Good Deeds Get CASH!" .
