Our Departed Friend [E] A poem about a funeral |
HAPPY WDC ACCOUNT ANNIVERSARY FROM "Anniversary Reviews" Greetings, StoryBob! I am reviewing this because today is your 14th WDC Account Anniversary. First of all, my reviews are intended to be helpful and encouraging, not hurtful in any way. Use what you feel works for you, and leave the rest. The Positives/What I Liked I really like how this begins... “We’ve come to remember our dear departed friend,” and how you bring up questions we all might be asking ourselves about who this person really was, behind the mask. The following lines are a few of my favorites in this piece (and definitely thought-provoking)... A secret life, a hidden past? We do not know of demons fought, Hidden fears, or shame brought, I'm sure most of us have attended funerals of people who the pastor/priest/whoever spoke only of the good things about that person, sometimes maybe over-emphasizing on the positive, while a few secretly rolled their eyes, knowingly. And that's where a few more of my favorite lines come in... But deep down we know that we too have regrets, Errors of judgement, lies, failures, fiascos, debts, Too many to mention, and painful to recall, Most of all, however, I liked how you ended this piece, turning it to the Man on the tree, who hung there for you and me, offering forgiveness. Suggestions/Comments to Consider I have no suggestions. Final Thoughts This beautiful thought-provoking piece will connect to many, I'm certain. Thank you for sharing, and once again, Happy 14th WDC Account Anniversary! Have a great day and... K e e p on W r i t i n g ! Cubby ")
