Hi Beholden Author Icon.

I'm JACE Author Icon, and I have the honor of reviewing your offering "Madame Michelle de la Lyonesse DupontOpen in new Window..

The views and opinions on this review are mainly the things discovered by the reader and therefore, do not reflect necessarily to the group, activity and/or event being affiliated herein. This is only the opinion and suggestions of the reviewer, and it is still up to the author of this piece to consider this review as a corrective action or otherwise.

*Note1*
Overall Impression. Once again, I find myself in your Port. More accurately, your offering came up on the Read & Review feature. I was happy to see this as I needed a good laugh.

Your offering not only provides a little humor, but also a moral. Perhaps the humor makes a moral more palatable. You stated this piece was an entry in the Humorous Short Story Contest. Congratulations for your 3rd place finish. I don't remember that contest; must have missed it. Since you didn't provide a link, I wonder if it still exists.

I was curious and looked up your phrase "chou chou". It's a French term signifying a "teacher's pet", thus a term of endearment. I enjoy being pushed, and learning something new.

Jean epitomizes the hopes of men as temptation rears its ugly head. Will he pass or fail that test? One always hopes for the former. Of course, he passes ... although perhaps not for the reason one may think. Certainly he sends the spirit on her way properly. And then he reveals a secondary consideration. I maintain that whatever his reasoning, Jean chose wisely.

Editorial Thoughts.

*Bullet* Congratulations for your Quill Award nominations. That's an impressive feat. And again with your contest placement.

Technical Considerations.

*Bullet* I found no issues with your grammar, punctuation and spelling. I found your dialogue to be in period with your setting, moving your story along very well.

Favorite Part.  I really appreciated the pun with respect to his destination.

Truth is, Mademoiselle scared me s***less.
