Hello KingsSideCastle Author Icon

First impression:

This Writing.Com crossword was made for last year's site wide anniversary bash.

What works:

Your hints are great. I also like how many words there are to be found. It took me a couple of tries, but I ended up with a perfect score after waffling about for a little bit. One thing was the difference between singular and plural. That extra S or no S at the end was the solution a few times. And then I forgot at first that we don't call it emoji here but emoticons.

What needs work:

The image area could use a thumbnail picture to make it more colorful and stand out more.

Final thoughts:

Hey, this was fun. Mostly because I felt that it was 100% achievable. Your hints could be called obvious, but they really aren't. A visitor still has to have quite a bit of site knowledge to even understand the questions because we use a little bit of an insider lingo here on Writing.Com. Probably the best example of that reality is the WritingML. It took me a moment to realize what you were asking. I had emojis there at first.

I hope you get this placed on the official site next party week around. It's truly a fun way to learn about the site and to remember how much or how little we know.
