My name is Lyn, I am one of the sly foxes.

Title: Just One

First Impression: If only I could dispute the verses but our country seems to be founded on bloodshed and continues in existing with daily burst of fresh bloodshed. If only we didn't have conflict, guess once I'm gone I will have that wish. Sorry didn't mean to go morbid on you.

What needs your attention: Nothing that this author can see or suggest.

What part I liked best: The stanza that attracted my thoughts the most was the second stanza because it reminds the reader of our historical evolution from biblical times to the romans and the vikings and now words are as sharp as any sword in history. Both are capable of drawing blood.

Overall impression: The poem is very direct, no added frills or descriptive lines just simply stating how the author sees us at this point in time. It's timeless because there is nothing to lock the poem into any point in time.

I'm curious at the bottom of your poem it says, Wayne VFW would that be Wayne, New Jersey. My husband and I lived in Lawrenceville for 15 years before moving to Las Vegas to help my daughter after her divorce with childcare.

I agree grandparenting is the best.
