I hope you won if you entered this in a contest. If you never did enter it in Rachel's (user purplesunday) Shadows and Light contest, I think it'd be a great one to enter with this poem. I think the deadline for the current round is tomorrow night but it is usually open all year. It's a fantastic, emotionally deep and compelling poem and I think you'd have a great chance of winning. Well done!


My heart goes out to you on the loss of your father. Even though you wrote this in 2005, I imagine you still grieve his passing and miss him. I still miss my mom every day.

I was glad you had the explanatory note at the bottom. Hopefully that will stop people from making unwanted suggestions. I think it's great as it is. It reads like it's all being spilled out from your heart and soul. Separating it into stanzas and adding extra punctuation would probably take away from that. You did a fantastic job with the prompt, and produced an emotionally compelling poem using an unusual method. Well done!
