Nice short story. This captures the essence of conversations I feel like I have been on both sides on. I've been both the troubled individual not quite ready to share my problems as well as the person wanting to know more. In the short you manage to capture some realistic feelings and a conversation. I wonder if you are planning to expand this into a longer work. It feels like this could included in a much larger story if you wanted to. In any case this was very nice writing.
