Exciting story. This is a good premise Pirate adventure stories are fun and they combine with with a ghost story it is bound to be thrilling. You really know how to create suspense with the intro. I like the bit of history and description of Blackbeard. It really sets him up as menacing. The cursed treasure is a great catalyst for making Blackbeard appear. You do a good job of making Joseph unlikeable so we wind up rooting for the ghost. The action segment that follows the curse being activated is intense. Blackbeard is really shown to be destructive. I like how the guard getting suddenly impaled. It was a shocking scene. The other big moment was Blackbeard taking Joseph's head off in one clean swipe. Yikes. The aftermath was very grim. He left a lot of destruction behind

It it interesting that you chose to set the story up as a campfire. This could have easily been a stand alone story on its own. I don't know if anything coming after it in the campfire would be able to top this segment. Really great writing.
