A Perfect Crime [ASR] A very short piece involving a bunch of crows and the quiet after a storm of violence |
HAPPY WDC ACCOUNT ANNIVERSARY FROM "Anniversary Reviews" Hi MrL . Again, welcome to Writing.Com. I'm JACE , and I have the honor of reading and reviewing your offering "A Perfect Crime" in honor of your WDC anniversary. I invite your attention to the comments below. Please bear in mind these notes are from one on the outside looking in; ultimately only you can decide what's right for your story. Overall Impression. Your offering goes to prove that a short piece can still contain a lot for a reader to digest. You lay the groundwork for a tale as old as time--one where innocent folk lay between marauding men and their desires. What those desires include is left to the imagination of the reader. In fact, the few words provided leaves much to one's imagination. Yet men's desires are not essential to the subject, which is crows. They exist as they always have, fulfilling an instinct as old as their existence. To that end, they, too, must learn patience before fulfilling their desires. Your offering has an interesting title--it's one that drew me to this piece. The result was not what I expected; it's definitely an interesting twist though. Technical and Editorial Considerations. In this section I normally list those areas that relate specifically to the mechanics of your writing--punctuation, grammar, spelling, etc. You have a writing style that is easy to read. However, may I suggest a couple tips for posting items that will be read on a screen, including mobile screens? Double-space all paragraphs. The extra white space really helps your readers. The default font and size for creating WDC items is a 3.0 Arial. I tend to use a 3.5 Verdana. It's easy enough to change with the format icons at the top of your text boxes. I noted no problems with your actual writing mechanics. My Rating. 4.5. Thank you for sharing this offering, and I look forward to seeing you around in the coming year. Please accept these comments as offered in friendship and support. They are but my humble opinion. Reviewed by JACE My review has been submitted for consideration in "Good Deeds Get CASH!" .
