Dear Burning Thoughts ,

As you may have before (reason below): To be truthful, I don't know when or where I came across "Wet Weather" , but have kept it stored in my review sanctuary for sometime. I figured it was about time to start cleaning house and get some of the 50 plus items reviewed and made this one the latest priority.

"Wet Weather" as poetic prose piece artfully combines literary devices like alliteration and high-handed commentary that created a vivid reading experience. The description line itself, described as 'cause and effect,' hints at the interplay of natural elements and human emotions.

The piece evoked a sense of mystery and solitude through description/depiction of the rain person, who seems to exist in the realm between causality and ambiguity. Your use of alliteration, such as "greyed with storm clouds" and "melancholia responds, releases, and demands," adds a poetic rhythm to the narrative, enhancing the reader's engagement.

The rain person's enigmatic nature is beautifully conveyed through phrases like "He can be seen walking with his head hidden deep within a cowl, if you only knew how to look." This invites readers to explore the layers of meaning hidden beneath the surface, much like the rain person himself.

The juxtaposition of the rain person's connection to nature, as seen in his awareness of worms and street lamps during the rain, with his haunting presence and destructive gaze, adds complexity to the narrative. The description of his jaundiced eye and the reference to the power of a hundred hydrogen bombs create a powerful contrast between his internal world and the external environment.

This piece successfully captures the idea that the rain person embodies both the source of everything and the power of nothing, highlighting the duality of existence. The use of metaphor and symbolism, such as the rain person's wandering past windows and the fluorescent flies awakening instincts, adds unique depth to the prose.

In terms of improvement, while the piece excels in its use of literary devices, it could benefit from some clarity in certain sections. For instance, the transition from the rain person's contemplation to the description of innocence and joy could be smoother to maintain the overall flow.

But overall, "Wet Weather" is captivating and effectively conveys a sense of mystery, introspection, and the interconnectedness of nature and human emotions. It's quite remarkable in this regard. Its unique blend of literary elements makes it a thought-provoking read, inviting readers to ponder the enigmatic nature of existence.

Wonderfully done,

Brian
