Though it is a bit harsh, a realistic lyric, the lyricist observed the true-to-life world closely. So, the author can understand the importance of money. If the money is with you, you must find everybody in your surroundings, otherwise not.
In this song, the narrator did not find those mates who were with the teller when the narrator had sufficient money with the self. That is the reality. Though it is bitter in flavour but truth. Overall, the performance is indeed appreciable. I hope that will be repeated.
