Wow! This is indeed a short story about life and death. The narrator saw three premature deaths of three favourite persons. They were related to Dana, his best friend. She was only eight months junior to the teller.
Dana and her husband Samantha, due to their disease. It was unfortunate but expected. But their child Chris died tragically at thirty-two in an unnecessary car accident.
The borderline between life and death is too fine. One can not say when and how that human will cross the line.
It is a little gem. Keep writing.
