May God bless both of us as we grow as writers together!

Finder,

First of all, welcome to Writing.Com and thank you for entering my contest.

I have read your essay several times. You approached the prompt from a different direction than I did but your message comes across loud and clear:

God said three things to you:

"You are not in control, I am."

"Vengeance is mine, not yours."

"Not your will but mine be done."

As you expounded on these three keypoints, you reminded me of the importance of Proverbs 3:5-6:

[5] Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
[6] In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Your opening paragraph reminds me of the way I opened a story years ago: "Meeting Simon . . .. My pain was evident in my writing that day as your pain was evident in yours.

You bring your relationship with God to the forefront when you conclude that introduction with "I allowed God a chance to speak above the uproar in my mind."

As you shared your own struggle and the solution you found through prayer, you encouraged me to also
allow myself "to be lifted back to purpose through God's grace."

You did follow the five paragraph format the contest asked for and the transitions from one keypoint to the next were smooth. Using italics to highlight each keypoint gave clarity and guided your readers into the subject of each paragraph.

Thank you for sharing your struggle and the answers you received through prayer and the end result:

being able to "reconnect with the straight paths of purpose provided to us...in God's time, in God's way."

"In God's time, in God's way." is something we all need to remember.

You mentioned to me you had a typo. It edit you essay and correct the typo, simply click on the gear at the upper right of the item, then click on edit. Fix the typo then go to the bottom of the item and click "Complete Edit" to save it.

Again, welcome to WdC. I hope you find your niche here. *Heart*
