WOW - I could relate to every word!
You've summed up the feeling so effectively - people who were once close, who attempt to stay close with the annual print out! I also appreciate the pathos of the ending. Great job! *Thumbsupl*

Suggestions:
1. The title - the title, while it fits, is a bit general. Maybe you'd like to tweak it to give a hint of what is to come.
2. WritingML - I'd suggest Writing ML like font, size, colour, line space and centering.
