Jeff,

"I Write: Enter the Second DecadeOpen in new Window. has me reviewing your item today! *Wink*

This was an interesting read for me. I do not follow tennis so I had no idea who Roger Federer was. Should I ever see his name again, now, I will know he was an amazing tennis player.

I watched a little of the youtube video. I did not really know what I was watching but I could certainly tell when Federer did something exciting.

The paragraph where you say, "how effortless he made even the most complicated skills look" and describe some shots creates in my mind some of what I believe the video was showing.

I was surprised to read you were his fan ever since his LOSS: "since his epic 2008 Wimbledon loss to Nadal". That must have been an amazing match.

I don't think the paragraph starting with "I’m not sure there’s anything to be gained by another debate" adds anything to this essay however a tennis fan might think differently.

I loved the feelings you expressed in your intro and conclusion.

It is hard to watch our heroes ride off into the sunset, eh?
