I love your take on 'things' and I agree completely. Sometimes, objects hold a memory and bring back emotions that one may not be able to conjure up otherwise. I have some small things that my Dad bought for me on his trips abroad and I love recalling how he gave them to me and his descriptions of the trip.

You tell the story well, I could picture what was happening and was with you throughout. The font, layout, verse structure and rhyme scheme work well.

I tripped up slightly when you rhymed 'tears' with 'care', but that's not very significant.
