She not only remained an enigma to the townspeople, she also remained an enigma to me, the reader. At the same time, it makes so much sense that neither would fully find out who she is. I love that you made the wanderer who flees, builds, and then destroys a woman. That role is so often reserved for men. When a man turns out to be evil in the end, it never feels like a real surprise. In her case, she tried to warn someone from the the events that were going to happen. Because she was the one who would set them in motion. A well-crafted story with a main character of many layers.
