This was an interesting read. I took a political science class in January, which helped me understand some of the concepts and history you mention in this piece. Considering this was first written in 2012 and edited in 2015 the last time, a lot has changed. Especially in China. Now that Xi Jinping has made himself president for life and is actively subjugating Hong Kong in a way that China didn't do in 2015, history is moving faster than even five-six years ago.

You are so right that it's going to take a lot of work from politicians who are willing and able to get things done to rewind global warming and other planetary changes. It's going to be hard because too many are caught up in promoting whatever makes them more rich. Even those who promote green energy sources don't do it because they believe it will make a difference. It's simply where they invested their money.

I get that you are writing from a place of high understanding and comprehension, but as a reader, I can tell you that the last sentence unwind and cantonize under ecological, emerging criminal and social degovernancing pressures, into militarily garrisoned administrative zones is a mouthful and hard to fully grasp. There are a lot of heavy-duty words with deep meaning. The rest of the text before was not necessarily easy and definitely never simple, but I knew what you were talking about. If you want to reach a broader audience, this last sentence could use some stretching and more explanatory words to make the whole thing understandable.

I have a friend whose father always makes sure to speak in super difficult language and keeps arguing politics with my friend. I once told my friend that it was annoying to be around them because it was pointless to listen to them. She said half the time she didn't know what he said either, she had simply learned to spew the words at the right time. I have since blown his opinions off since he does not seem interested in being understood, rather he seems interested in hearing himself talk. I don't think that is what you were going for here. You have a real message.
