I totally agree. In addition to the fact that the poem itself is lovely, the sentiment is also exquisite. I just read earlier this morning about a man who "lives life in the rear view mirror" and thus is archiving the histoy of Cornell University. I too am one to whom "the past is always present," and I love history and believe in the tenet of George Santayana, a historian:
"Those who do not remember history are condemned to repeat it."
