Anything but Arachnids! (Shudder)
Seriously--your poem puts me in mind of a Ray Milland Sci-Fi horror film, "Frogs," in which the naked arrogance of a human directly results in a stirring response by the inhabitants of the surrounding swamp. In that case, the reverse of Humanity destroying Nature occurs, and Nature takes Mankind out of the picture, literally (without destroying Nature, as would an atomic device or pesticide). The film is a wonderful demonstration of arrogance and hubris and its eventual collapse. So too is your poem. I can readily visualize the disparate species organizing and marching (crawling, slithering, flying) to battle against Manifest Destiny-minded humanity (and succeeding).
I am reviewing for Disability Writers Group October Review Challenge.
