A tremendously powerful and utterly stirring tale! I loved it, marveled at it, was awestruck by it and by your imagination! Truly this is publishable! Also unforgettable! I read it from a Lovecraftian viewpoint (of course, for me) and the very first paragraphs reminded me of a story by Adam Nevill in the Anthology The Gods of HP Lovecraft, edited by Aaron French. Anyway, I so quickly became absorbed in your story that I stopped trying to make connections or allow reminders.

So all the "creature," "entity," "Marie--or not," wanted in the end was to return to the Sea which "birthed" her, and her weeping was not from joy at returning to her "parents," but at loss of the Sea, for the time being. Thankfully, she had not been removed from the shore and could return with the tide.

Two minor corrections: "Soothe" and "occurred."
